Aloha from Paradise,It is early evening on Kalakaua Ave where I live in a fourth floor apartment with a view that looks out over the Avenue and the nearby small businesses and residences, also the area where President Obama lived while he was in high school.In the distance I see the Tantalus Mountain where early money built hill side homes with an ocean view. The Honolulu Museum of Contemporary Art is now located in one of the finest.I am considering changing the name of this blog to beautiful images of sexually attractive women (is there another kind?) resisting handsome rapists while being systematically stripped and fondly manhandled.That way Discovering Me would be much more 'out there' and easier to access, since so far there have been no 'takers' based on the original Title.

I just turned/rounded/whatever seventy four.

After a lifetime of punishment and criticism due to my interest in pornography, I finally learned/discovered/snapped to/ the conclusion/fact that virtually all the pornographic images of women on the Internet are not biological women. They are of transgender women.

I could not reconcile the enormous Internet following for porn with the apparent disapproval among those who expressed interest in the subject.

(not even for a moment). Since the Alzheimer’s diagnosis and daily medication (about five years ago) I DO understand better, however.

Not because understanding seems less important, but actually because of increased understanding.

This is due to a broader (more cosmic) perception and perspective. The effect is both intellectual (despite some memory loss) and psychological.

To My Mind The Serpent In The Garden of Eden Allegory Represents My

The image of the serpent/ego is beguiling and also a bit frightening.

Until the moment of the tasting of the forbidden fruit there had been no reason for fear (and so no fear consciousness). It is interesting to philosophize/speculate about the possibility that a twinge of ‘fear’ entered the picture when the serpent made its proposal.

According to the discussion in the Bible the Holy Spirit knows not of fear, but ‘can cast out fear’ in a mortal mind.

How is this possible if the mortal mind has freedom of choice? The obvious answer is that the power is available, but must be accepted and allowed to work.

So then, casting out fear requires the combined auspices of the finite mind and the infinite mind.

Is fear a constituent of opportunism?

Well, isn’t opportunism basically defensive?

It seems to me to be a form of self-protection

Against the vagaries of the future.

One might then ask, “Is that bad or good?”

About ten years ago I moved from New Mexico to Hawaii to retire in Paradise.
Many years ago I attended an EST seminar in Chicago (the Werner Erhardt self improvement deal). It was enlightening and, of course, worth while. The fulcrum of the "Event" was the communal effort/struggle to get "IT"while under the supervision of an EST trainer (who had been trained by Werner).
One of the psychological tecniques was the presentation, and sometimes mutual discovery, of 'aphorisms."
One of the more interesting of those was, "Being Right is the Booby Prize."

But, I feel that perhaps I digress.
The beauty of it all includes an ongoing realization that I am not in control. My own experience has been that if I relax with an open mind (a real challenge 'til I recently 'grew up') I receive messages that will direct me unerringly tward goodness and rightness if I receive/grasp/ the messages, which come like lightening.

Foreshadowing (In Flashback)

July 1953

Just before my sixteenth birthday my family bought (and so owned) our first home in Albuquerque. Before that we were renters in someone else’ house.

During the move, which the family accomplished by ourselves, I over exerted something, and while we were celebrating at a July Fourth picnic in the nearby Sandia Mountains I got severe stomach pains.

The family rushed me into town and Mother phoned her private physician, also a friend, who met us at the hospital emergency room at Presbyterian Hospital.

After an exam, I was taken straight into surgery and the Doctor, (William Woolston), performed emergency exploratory surgery. It was scary for all of us.

Just before I was wheeled into the operating room Mother put her hand on my arm, and said to me, “I know God will bring you back safely to me.”

That is the only truly spiritual thing she ever said to me.

When I woke up in my hospital room, the doctor was there and he asked me if the pain was better. It wasn’t, but I did not want to go through that again so I nodded to him, ‘yes’.

I remember that while I was in the recovery room there was a boy slightly older than me in the next bed attended by his parents. They were trying to soothe him, and he was emotional and not thinking clearly. He said to his parents, “well, at least I am not There.” They asked him where he meant, and he replied, “you know ‘there’ – in hell.”

After a few days the pain was much better, and I was told by the doctor that he had repaired an umbilical hernia.

When the surgery was over my ‘belly button’ was gone.

Later, Cynthia told me that the first time she saw me nude she was convinced that I was ‘an angel.’

At that time I was flattered, but thought she was foolish. NOT SO!

It was me that was foolish – for many, many years after that.

As far back as I know, my psyche, mind, will and strength have revered female spirit.

Our whole world flinches when that quality in a man is misunderstood for any reason.

There is a universal paranoia about male intentions toward females.
. . . And, it seems to be for good and sufficient reason.

That has been, is, and will be – my 'cross to bear'.

. . So be it . . .
