FORGIVENESS is a process far beyond our poor power to add or subtract

– Except on a subjective and purely personal level
– That is meaningful for ourselves alone…

  1. During my lifetime as a litigation and appeals attorney, I had a dear friend who, in my opinion, was the best litigation lawyer in America. After we both retired, we bumped into each other at a restaurant, just after I had taken a case against him personally, for the only time in our lives. He was offended and when I reached out and put my hand on his shoulder in friendship, he said quietly "Take your hand off my shoulder, I am an old man and I can't forgive,"

This is my homage to William C. Marchiondo
